BIBLE STUDY

The Bible Study Program brings together small groups interested in deepening their understanding of our Catholic Faith through a greater love of Scripture. Updates on new courses of study and meeting location will be posted in the Bulletin and on the Parish Website.

BOOK CLUB

Together we explore literature with Catholic themes from devotional and theological writings, saint biographies, works of fiction and non-fiction.  Books are suggested, agreed upon by the group and then discussed.  New Book Titles and meeting dates are posted in the Bulletin and on the Parish Website

CORNERSTONE

Men’s Cornerstone and Women’s Cornerstone begins with a 27 hour retreat at the parish. Members then participate in social, spiritual and service programs throughout the year that allow members an opportunity to spend time together praying, sharing and participating in community service projects.

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER AND WORSHIP

This ministry offers prayer opportunities for all interested parishioners included Candlelight Living Rosary,   Divine Mercy Prayer Service, Eucharistic Adoration,  and Stations of the Cross.

DIVORCED AND SEPARATED

Separation and Divorce are major life changing events; a 12 - Week Surviving Divorce Program offers help and support in navigating this chapter in your life. After completion there are regularly scheduled ongoing group support sessions. Updates regarding schedule and meetings location will be posted in the Bulletin and on the Parish Website.

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

We keep our parishioners of ways they can help protect and conserve God's creation.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass. Some volunteers extend this ministry by bringing communion to those in the hospital or who are homebound.

FAITH FORMATION

Religious Education offers a meaningful faith experience to Students in grades K - 8. 

FINANCE COUNCIL

Meets regularly to discuss the financial status of our church.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

A Catholic Fraternal Benefit Society that assists the church formed to assist those in need. Fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

LAZARUS MINISTRY

Members are trained to assist families who have lost a loved one to prepare for the liturgy for the Mass of Christian Burial. A member of the ministry meets with the immediate family to offer comfort and compassion as they assist with the planning of the funeral liturgy.

LECTORS

Lectors proclaim the Word of God at Mass and other liturgical functions. Training is provided.

LINEN AND ALTAR MINISTRY

This ministry cares for the altar and liturgy linens insuring the dignity of the altar, the center of worship for Catholics.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

This ministry meets once to create beautiful Prayer Shawls for anyone undergoing surgery, suffering, grieving or celebrating a joyous occasion as well. Shawls are knitted prayerfully for the individual to receive it and blessed by each member of the ministry when completed.  

RCIA (RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS

The process for full initiation into the Catholic Church. RCIA is for unbaptized adults, adults who are baptized in another Christian faith interested in becoming Catholic, or adults baptized Catholic in need of First Communion and/or Confirmation. 

SOCIAL CONCERNS

Social Concerns Committee is an outreach group involved in a wide range of service programs and special projects to assist those who are in need. Programs include, Scholarships, School Supply Collection, Food Certificate Program, Food Pantry, Thanksgiving and Easter Meals, Christmas Giving Tree, Hackensack Soup Kitchen, Harrison House, Diaper Collection and Lighthouse Baby Bottle

ST. JOSEPH'S CARPENTERS 

A group of volunteers who help with maintenance around the church.

STEPHEN MINISTRY

Sometimes you need 1:1 support during a crisis or life event - sad times as well as happy times. Supporting you in any major life changing event, our trained Stephen Ministers will listen and extend emotional and spiritual support.  Call the parish center to arrange for your personal Stephen Minister.

SPANISH MINISTRY

Together to worship every weekend in Spanish!

USHERS

Serve as ministers of hospitality and provide assistance at a Mass of choice on weekends and holidays. They help with taking up the collection, assisting with seating and coordinating the Offertory procession.

WATERING MINISTRY

Watering Ministry is in charge of making sure our flowers in the church are always watered.

WEDDING MINISTRY

Assists married couples on the day of their wedding as well as their wedding rehearsal.

WOMEN'S PRAYER GROUP

We gather, pray, and share our faith journey. Come join us on Monday evenings - each week we have a different topic to help us grow in our faith and love of the Lord.  Currently we are meeting virtually - call Anne Palladino to get "connected."

YOUNG ADULTS

YOUTH MINISTRY

St. Paul Youth Group is a place for friends to gather and use the teachings of our faith to enrich our community, peers, and self. We aim to reach others through prayer, service and living the Gospel in everyday action. There are opportunities for community service

and retreats as well as events just for fun.

ALTAR SERVERS

Altar Servers assist the priest during all Liturgical Celebrations and is open to all 10 years and older.

ART AND ENVIRONMENT

Based on the teachings of Pope Francis in his encyclical "On Care for our Common Home" (Laudato Si`) this ministry addresses how we are shaping the future of our planet. All are invited to join the St. Paul Environmental Awareness Ministry which offers education, small group discussion, community awareness and action programs as we look to our common future with hope, candor and humility.  

BAPTISM MINISTRY TEAM

The Baptism Team assists parents who are baptizing their children by leading Parent Preparation Sessions and assisting at Baptism Ceremonies. Some members of the team also assist in the creation of the white garments worn by the babies at baptism. 

BASKETBALL

Basketball is currently suspended due to COVID-19.

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY

The Bereavement Support Group  provides a caring and supportive group environment for those grieving the loss of a loved one.  Sessions run for 8 weeks, updates regarding schedule and meeting location will be posted in the Bulletin and on the Parish Website.

BREAD MINISTRY

This ministry delivers bread from Panera in Ramsey to Toni’s Kitchen in Montclair.  Toni’s Kitchen is the food ministry of St. Luke’s Church in Montclair, and they are responsible for providing thousands of meals to people in need every year since 1982.

COLLECTION COUNTING

A team of parishioners that count the Sunday Collections.

CONFIRMATION

We assist in preparing our youth for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

CURSILLO

An informal 3 day spiritual retreat, organized mainly by lay people with Spirtual Directors.

Cursillo means short course in Christianity to deepen our faith. 

EVANGELIZATION

Assists the people of the parish in carrying out their mission to build a welcoming community, and to reach out and invite all to share our journey by Knowing the Faith, Living the Faith, Sharing the Faith, and inspiring others to do the same.

FAITH FOREVER

No one is ever too old to learn about their faith. Faith Forever's goal is to continue to educate all ages on our faith!

HARRISON HOUSE

LECTIO DIVINA

An ancient practice of the church using Sunday scriptures for meditation and reflection. Groups meet seasonally in Advent and Lent.

MEDIA MINISTRY

Our media team assists in the production of our Sunday mass livestreams and other special events as well as works together to evangelize through technology.

MEN'S MINISTRY

We are a group that meets regularly to pray.

MUSIC MINISTRY

The music ministry provides music during weekend Masses, holy days, wedding, funerals, and other para-liturgical services.

Our mission is to witness, by word and action, to the teachings of Jesus Christ on the respect for the dignity of each human being from conception to natural death.

SENIOR MINISTRY

Serves and supports our senior community through outreach and networking. In addition, seniors are offered opportunities for social and spiritual gatherings.
