OCIA
OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the process for initiation into the Catholic Church. OCIA is a rewarding journey of faith, learning, and prayer.
The OCIA conversion journey at St. Paul Church creates “disciples” not “scholars.” Though you will come to know about Jesus, most importantly who will come to know Jesus.
OCIA is for:
-
Adults who are not baptized (Catechumens)
-
Adults who are baptized in non-Catholic Christian faith but are interested in becoming Catholic (Candidates)
-
Adults baptized Catholic in need of First Communion and/or Confirmation. (Candidates)
You are invited to inquire and to find peace, wisdom and reconciliation. You will see that the Sacraments are vital to your peace and salvation. You will learn how the History of Salvation is relevant today. Have you ever wondered about the devotions and gestures of the Catholic Church? Do you really understand the Mass? Did you know there are more than 12,000 named saints? Can the Beatitudes, if practiced, be the solution for peace in the world? When did reconciliation replace confession?
