Grades 1-5

Grades 1-5 Family Faith Formation

What is Family Faith Formation?

The Family Faith Formation program is a family-based catechetical program that helps families grow in the love of God by understanding and living our Catholic faith. This program brings families together in faith!

Why is Family Faith Formation Important?

Faith begins at home. As parents, you are the first and most important teachers of your children’s faith. When you take an active role in your child’s spiritual growth, that faith is more likely to take root, grow, and become a lasting part of their life.
Our program is built on the belief that the family is the
“domestic church”—a sacred space where love, faith, and values are passed on through everyday moments. By walking this journey of faith together, we not only help our children grow closer to God, but we also strengthen our families and build a stronger, more connected parish community.

How Does Our Program Work?

We’re excited to walk with your family on this faith journey!

Here’s what you can expect from our program:

Monthly Family Meetings

Once a month, we gather in person—typically on a Sunday morning from 8:15–9:45 AM. During this time:

  • Children attend a fun and engaging catechetical session with a catechist.

  • At least one parent joins our Adult Faith Formation session, designed to support your own spiritual growth.

A few times throughout the year, we hold special Family Sessions where parents and children come together for a shared experience of faith, learning, and community.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

We’re here to help your family build a meaningful routine of attending Mass weekly. During Children’s Liturgy of the Word at Mass, we invite kids to a special time where they hear the Gospel, pray, sing, and reflect how to live out the teachings of Jesus and grow in virtue
We encourage families to attend
at least two Children’s Liturgies of the Word each month.
These are offered during the following Mass times:

  • Saturday 5:00 PM

  • Sunday 10:00 AM

  • Sunday 12:00 PM

(Note: During summer, Children’s Liturgy is offered only at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass.)

Monthly Homework
Each child will receive a monthly homework assignment. This includes lessons, reflections, and simple activities to help reinforce the faith topics they are learning in their sessions.
